Home News iPad 2 Has Only 256MB RAM?

The new iPad 2 is said to have only 256MB RAM, which makes it fall even below the iPhone 4.

The original iPad was launched with 256MB RAM and Apple was expected to update it at least to 512MB in the second version. Because iPhone 4 already has 512MB RAM and other tablets like Motorola Xoom, HP TouchPad and BlackBerry PlayBook come with 1GB RAM.
But in the yesterday event, Apple disclosed nothing about the memory of the iPad 2 and we couldn’t find any details from the specification page. As already many analysts has concluded that it has only 256 MB RAM, we have to believe it now. We think it would be a poor companion for a 1GHz dual-core Apple A5 chip. Cost and availability might be the problem for Apple.

Let us wait for a tear down.
