Apple is getting ready to unveil its next generation iPad on March 2nd in San Francisco. Apple is preparing for this big event at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts a week ahead of the schedule. This is the same venue Apple has used to introduce a number of products in recent years. Apple on Wednesday sent invitations to the media asking them to attend this special event on March 2nd. Please have a look at it. It says it all.
There were rumors that the iPad shipments would be delayed for quite sometime due to the software design. This story came just hours after these rumors were out and it was out a day before the arrival of Motorola Xoom with 10.1 inch display that runs on Android 3.0 Honey comb.
While the specifications of the new iPad are still kept under wraps, it is widely believed that it will feature a front facing camera and allows video conferencing. In terms of design Android tablets may have a promising future but when it comes to price, it is going to disappoint people. While iPad current model sells for $500 for 16GB, the Motorola Xoom costs $800.
The next iPad has to face tough competition from the upcoming Android powered LG G-Slate, RIM’s BlackBerry Playbook, and the WebOS-powered Touchpad from HP.
