While Apple lovers are still getting to know the full functionality of iPad 2, rumours have already started circulating about iPad 3. Apple enthusiasts are expecting the third generation of iPad to be launched by the fall of 2011. But to crush their excitement, Chinese part suppliers do not agree with the rumor. They say that they have not yet received orders for iPad 3’s components and with iPad 2 just released news of iPad 3 might not be true. According to Digitimes,
Sources from touch panel makers pointed out that Apple recently released its latest tablet PC plan and is asking the panel makers to provide products that are capable to support higher image quality than the current iPad 2 and Apple may even choose AMOLED panel or panel that support Full HD standard to accomplish the plan. However, since the project is still at the initial planning stage, the actual products are unlikely to appear in 2011.
The report also denies the rumours that state the future iPad will feature an AMOLED display due to the fact that the competitors are in hold of the major AMOLED part supplies and this move could put Apple at risk.
Some sources pointed out that since AMOLED technologies are still mostly controlled by Korea-based Samsung Electronics, while Apple has competition with Samsung over tablet PC sales, if Apple is adopting AMOLED panel into its device, Apple would be facing a great risk having the key technologies being held by its competitors.
The Chinese source says that if a new iPad is scheduled to be launched in the fall of 2011 then there will be no big changes. It will come with a very few upgrade and may be a slight makeover in the communication format. But reports say that Verizon and Apple have LTE in mind. If that is the case then a 4G/LTE iPad might be in the charts!
