We had seen many news reader for iPad in the past, but none of that are really appealing to use. Luckily the time has changed, introducing Pulse a RSS based news reader developed by Akshay Kothari and Ankit Gupta a Standford graduates. Initially when I saw the screenshots and the video, I was literally amazed to see the app in action. Then later I got it on my iPad and you know what, the app works brilliant!
The app dashboard list out the feeds in separate columns and you can add a maximum of 20 feeds to this app. Some might feel the numbers are not sufficient, but the numbers have increased from 10 to 20 from the time of initial launch. I hope they might increase the number of RSS counts even more, but still 20 is enough for many to view our favorite blog feeds. The app is loaded with bunch of features like offering both RSS and Web view of the post and the app viewing modes (landscape and portrait) works perfect without loosing the readability of the content.
- Easy to search for feeds
- Easy share on Facebook, Twitter and Via Email
- Dual view including both RSS and Web view
- Smooth transition between Portrait and Landscape views
Found an interesting article, you can share the it on your Facebook, Twitter and even you can email without leaving the app. Voila! so much of features bundled in one app and that too at an incredible price $3.99. So, if you own a iPad, you need to give a try for Pulse.
