Home Reviews Symphonix Evolution App Review

If you are a musician, you can find only few good apps in the App Store to suit your taste. I have found one well – designed music app today. Let me review it.

Symphonix Evolution is a handy tool that could turn your iPad into a virtual keyboard. It is an advanced music notation editor and a MIDI player. This app has virtual Synth Keyboard, Notation Panel and Toolbar. The users can enter music and create composition with the Notation Panel or they can use Virtual Synth Keyboard to playback.

This virtual keyboard not only looks like a real keyboard (have a look at the screenshot above), but also performs functions like that. Users can make it to display higher notes as well as lower notes. The design of this keyboard is unbelievable and users can see a pretty animation when they play. It has buttons to start, stop, toggle modes etc., Action button in the toolbar helps to mail the composition as a Symphonix file or as a MIDI file. Time Signature button helps to set time signature on Notation Panel and users can control the volume with the Mixture.

It supports external MIDI devices, using the USB camera connector. To guide novices to explore music, there is a Help section which has detail descriptions for every button. It has tools for recording music, loading and saving file, editing functions, song settings, notations etc.,  Apart from toolbars it has Advanced Settings for reverb effect processing and chorus effect processing.

This app is really packed with impressive features and the quality of the sound is awesome. If you are a musician you should have this app, if you are a learner, you can try it and if you want to learn music, you can start with it, I think. This app is available for $12.99 and it is much less when you compare this price with a real music equipment. It is compatible with iPad and requires iOS 4.2 or later.
